The purpose of the event was to discuss the identification of written sources related to the history and culture of Kazakhstan, their scholarly analysis, and their introduction into academic circulation, as well as to examine current trends in source studies and modern research methods.
During the seminar, a number of substantive presentations were delivered. Participants addressed актуальные issues of teaching historical sources in higher education institutions and shared insights into the specifics and practices of working with archival materials.
In addition, students of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University presented reports on the role of source studies in historical research, the prerequisites and patterns of its formation as a scientific discipline, the significance of historical sources, and current issues related to Kazakh oral history.
The seminar was attended by Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor T. Sadykov; Honored Journalist of Kazakhstan and orientalist M. Baimukhanov; Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Z. Dukenbayeva; Doctor of Historical Sciences G. Otepova; PhD, Associate Professor of the Kazakh National University of Sport G. Zhakibayeva; history teacher of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Astana and master’s student of the A.Kh. Margulan Pavlodar Pedagogical University A. Gaziz; as well as young researchers, field specialists, and students.
This event provided an opportunity for experience exchange between the academic community and young researchers and contributed to a deeper understanding of the issues related to introducing historical sources into scientific circulation.
